



Tasmania’s North East is a landscape of striking contrasts, lush myrtle forests and mossy gullies give way to turquoise waters, white sands and dramatic granite headlands. Over four inspiring days, you’ll explore and photograph this remarkable region, capturing everything from the delicate details of the forest to the expansive beauty of wild coastlines.
You’ll develop techniques for shooting in diverse environments such as, mastering light in dense forests, refining your eye for long exposure compositions along the shore and creating images that tell the story of a landscape rich in variety and mood. Each day blends exploration and creativity, with time to slow down and connect with the places you photograph.
Your comfort and enjoyment is a priority to Tasmanian Photography Tours. From accommodation in your own suite with a super king sized bed at the Bay of Fires Apartments, Luxury Suite Accommodation and fresh, hearty Tasmanian meals to round out the experience.

- Departure & Return - The tour departs from and returns to the Old Woolstore Hotel, located at 11/1 Macquarie Street, Hobart City. Departure is scheduled for Friday morning, 6 November 2026, with return on Monday afternoon, 9 November 2026

- Payment Terms - A $1000 AUD deposit is required to secure your booking. Once received, we will email you an invoice for the full tour amount. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 60 days before the tour’s start date. By booking you acknowledge and accept our Terms and Conditions
- Fitness / Mobility Requirements - This workshop involves a low to moderate level of fitness. Participants should be comfortable with short walks to shooting locations, including walking by head torch before sunrise or after dark. Some locations are accessed via beaches, slippery rainforest trails, unsealed paths, steps, and gentle inclines, and conditions may be cold and/or wet (weather and safety permitting)

Your Instructors
Ben Wilkinson and Francois Fourie have been exploring Tasmania’s wild places for years.
From hiking through the Western Arthurs range, exploring old forest on the West Coast or remote Tarkine rivers, together they’ve photographed just a few of Tasmania’s wonders!
After so many adventures, they’ve developed an easy flow as a team, making time with them feel more like heading out with a couple of mates for a great day of photography. Between them, there’s always plenty of knowledge, encouragement and laughs along the way.
Ultimately, when you’re with us, you’ll have a lot of fun and go home with great images.
Your Accommodation
The Bay of Fires Apartments
Our home away from home for 3 nights, the Bay of Fires Apartments are a great central location and base for exploring this magical area of the North East Coast of Tasmania.
It’s location is perfect for us to explore the regions stunning forests and coastlines. After an adventure packed day, we come home to our luxury guest suites located in the main street of St Helens. Each suite has a super-king sized bed, beautiful linen, private ensuite and a small bar for that end of day wine and cheese session.
St.Helens is a beautiful bayside village, only a 10 minute drive to the beautiful Binalong Bay and Bay Of Fires area, with some of the most pristine white sand beaches in the world., also famous for the lichen-clad rocks, native to this area.

What You Will Need
- A DSLR or Mirrorless camera
- Fully charged camera batteries
- Memory card(s)
- Lenses – If you need advice we will guide you
- Tripod – sometimes, but mostly not
- Good footwear – walking boots preferably as it will be wet and muddy/sandy
- Warm clothing, it will be cold out there. This needs to be a warm jumper and pants, beanie, gloves and a good waterproof jacket
