Meet Your Instructors

Ben Wilkinson @Wilkography and Francois Fourie @ffourie have been exploring and capturing Tasmania’s wild places for years.

From hiking through the Western Arthurs range, wandering througfh old forests on the West Coast or remote Tarkine rivers, together they’ve photographed quite a few of Tasmania’s wonders!

After so many adventures, they’ve developed an easy flow as a team, making time with them feel more like heading out with a couple of mates for a great day of photography. Between them, there’s always plenty of knowledge, encouragement and laughs along the way.

Ultimately, when you’re with us, you’ll have a lot of fun and go home with great images.

Your Accommodation - Thousand Lakes Wilderness Lodge

Following an impressive refurbishment from former Antarctic Training Facility – “Bernacchi Lodge” – to premium alpine accommodation in 2016, Thousand Lakes Lodge is not just a haven from the elements, it’s an essential addition to your Tasmanian photography adventure.

As a fully off-the-grid experience, there is no Wi-Fi and limited phone coverage, the Lodge is a truly remarkable place to switch off from the world and perfect for a Winter Photography Retreat.

Step outside and be immersed in the remote wilderness environment. Whether it is to photograph the many alpine tarns or to simply soak up the pristine air and wide-open spaces, this place will awaken the soul.

Relax, slow-down, recharge and relish the peace and serenity of this natural alpine plateau.
